My daughter recently celebrated her 17th birthday and I let her pick out a birthday outfit from the Charlotte Russe website. She picked out 2 dresses and a pair of shoes and I spent under $40 on the total order. I also opted for their 2 day shipping and got the order right on time for her birthday. They have great sales on shoes and clothing at deeply discounted prices. Their clothing is very hip and current with today's young adults. Charlotte Russe also has great phone customer service when making changes to orders and their reps are very knowledgeable. Their store has now become one of my daughter's favorite shopping sites.

I tried to buy my niece a gift card from Charlotte Russe for her birthday recently and was so disappointed. I was looking for an electronic gift card (e-card) that I could give her that she could use "in store" (not just online). I looked on their website and saw that their electronic gift cards were restricted to online purchases only. I called their telephone customer service to ask for clarification and was told to disregard that disclaimer. She went on to say that once my niece receives it (via email) she can "print it out, take it into any of our stores and use it". I took what the representative told me at face value and ordered the gift card myself online. After I received the email confirmation, low and behold-the disclaimer on it said "for online purchases only". I got a bad feeling so I even called and spoke with managers at 2 different stores near my niece (she lives in another state) to check. I called back their telephone customer service line to cancel my order and was told this could not be done (even though it had only been 30 minutes since I placed my online order). After insisting the error was not my fault, they agreed to "forward" my request for a credit back to one of their supervisors, but made me no promises as to a turn around time. I was promised, however, that a supervisor would call me to confirm my request within 48 hours. Here I am 2 weeks later and I have never heard from them. I have tried contacting them several times but only get the "run around". I already had to buy my niece a gift card from another store so this one from Charlotte Russe is void to me. I do not appreciate how I have been treated and so do not plan on using the card for myself either. In the end, I had to file a dispute with my credit card company and let them deal with the stress. Very disappointed in them. I have bought other online items from them in the past without difficulty so I was not expecting this situation. My niece loves them too, it's a shame. They have some really cute stuff and though I don't have a store near me since I relocated to another area, I did shop with them for over 15 years. In my opinion, they just need to work on training their online customer service team a little better and update their e-cards so they can be used anywhere.

I love Charlotte Russe's selection. Whether I want something professional or cute or both I can usually find it here. I went to a Charlotte Russe last week and had an employee who was very helpful to me. She assisted me in finding an outfit that was something I had originally not thought of myself but when I tried it on it looked great. I left the store feeling happy and grateful. The employees at this particular store are kind and helpful and I know at other stores that are relatively small like this, I sometimes get the cold shoulder. I enjoy shopping here and I will continue shopping here.
