Buying a Costco membership has been a really great deal for me. I have a large dog who eats a lot and the Costco/Kirkland dog food is really high quality – MUCH better than the brands found in grocery stores – but is so much cheaper than what is at most pet supply stores. I also got him a huge dog bed there for a fraction of what the pet supply stores wanted. I buy whole bean coffee at Costco for half the price I'd pay in a grocery store. I bought an enormous bottle of vanilla extract for the same price I'd pay for a teeny bottle anywhere else. The cheese and wine selections are outstanding. Every time I visit Costco I find something new at an unbelievable price. Everyone working there seems really friendly too which makes the entire experience pleasant. Some other reviewers complained about the staff but maybe it depends on which store you're at because I've never had any problems at all. Admittedly the $50 membership fee seems high, but considering what you get for it I think it's fully worth it, but you do have to make sure you spend enough there during the year to make up for it.

My wife and I do the bulk of our shopping at Costco. It's perfect for our budgeting method. We normally only shop once a month for convenience purposes and to save on gas. The only way to effectively do this is by shopping in bulk. Of all of the bulk shopping options, Costco has the best variety by far. We are able to acquire all of of our cheese and bread for the month at this one location. In addition, if you can stand the crowds, it's a fun store to shop on weekends. There are always countless samples of new and regular products.

I buy lot of stuff from Costco. They have gas station and if you have a costco card then you can get gas for cheaper prize so it's really amazing. It's a good store if you buy stuff in bulk. I go there every 3 months for things I need. Last month I went there and they had a deal for protein powder and I bought one 10 lbs one for $40 and normally 10 lbs cost over $100 at other stores. One time I did have a problem with them because I bought a TV and the guy at the door acted like I was stealing the TV and he was really giving me evil look and that made me complain to manager. Staff is not that great because they probably don't get paid a lot but it's a good store and have cheap stuff.

I recently had trouble at Costco. My car's gas cap was broken during a refueling. I live in a state where you can't pump your own gas. Well, I got out of my car and noticed that my gas cap had been plugged in incorrectly by the previous Costco gas station employee. I tried to fix it and the plastic grip broke off of the plug. I was a little upset so I went to the customer service area. The employee listened to my story and recommended I speak with a manager. He listened to my story and politely wrote down all my information and had me fill out paperwork. He was a bit hesitant however said he would see what he could do. I shopped and went home and waited for him to get back to me. Just a couple days later he called and told me the company would cover the cost of the cap, even though I had twisted it off. Can you ask for better customer service than that? I don't think so. Costco has great customer service, great prices, great quality food, as well as electronics and books and clothing. It's my first stop for food. Rarely do I go to a regular grocery store anymore.

I received a Costco Gift Card from my mother as a Christmas present. I am a huge fan of Costco but of course every time I go there I spend a nice chunk of change. There are several Costcos in the area and I usually go to the Iwilei Costco. This is probably the busiest Costco in the nation, or so I've heard. They are pretty courteous there and I have few gripes about the amount of people but I can't say that the workers there are bad. Back to the gift card. As usual I have a boat load of stuff in my cart and I'm waiting in line; all lines are open but they still are all busy. I come up to the cashier and they happily take my gift card and there are no issues processing the request and putting the rest on to my AMEX Costco Credit Card. No problems there.

Costco is easily one of my favorite stores. We started shopping there a couple of years ago, and it has changed how we shop for groceries. We used to go grocery shopping a couple times a week, and we never planned in advance. Now, we go to Costco once a month and buy many of the same items in bulk, and we plan meals a month ahead. We had to buy a freezer to handle the excellent deals on meat, and the meat is higher quality than what you find at a regular grocery store. In particular, we love the vacuum-sealed fresh chicken breasts they sell. Food isn't all we buy at Costco though. We renovated our house with laminate flooring we bought there, we have bought sets of tires there, and we love to browse their electronics and small appliances sections. We also have no complaints about the customer service there. At our local Costco, all the workers we have talked to have loved their jobs and have always been happy to help. They have fantastic customer service people, especially.

Costco is a great store but has the absolute worst customer service. Last year when building my house I bought a 2 sink vanity. This is obviously an extremely heavy thing to move by myself so I needed help. Several Costco employees walk right by me without bothering to ask if I needed assistance. I walk up front to find one and I have to ask 3 different people before finding someone who could help me. I then wait another 10 minutes while they find a forklift to bring it to my car. Once out there, I have to lift it with another guy into my car. For spending $700, I shouldn't have to load that into my car. Costco I love your store but hate how little you help your customers.
