One specific negative experience I had at Meijers was around a couple years ago on the day a specific video game out. The weekly ad for the store I went to had the game advertised as being in on the day it was out, so obviously I thought that I would be able to purchase the game, this reasoning was further supported when I got to the videogames section and the game was being advertised as in store today. The game wasn't behind the glass, so I asked an employer who worked in the section, I was told that they didn't have the game and that they hadn't gotten it in yet, when I mentioned both instances saying that the game should be here, the response was something along the lines of "Maybe it was sold out..." She contradicted herself majorly within the span of one minute. To be fair, this instance is more an example of an incompetent employee rather than the store itself being bad. I've had no issues simply going in and buying food, clothes and other things like that, in that regard it's a solid store.

I first encountered Meijer just last year. I was drawn in by the name which is sort of strange. However since moving to the area I love shopping at Meijer. They have a huge selection of items and some unique offerings. Their produce department is absolutely huge. It has tons of fresh options. My family also loves their pies and other baked goods. They carry a full line of products and often have the brands missing at other large stores. This is a "nicer" store but also a very competitively priced store. Their food is always fresh and easy to find. I also love the toy, sport and home sections. They are a great place for holiday shopping. There is certain to be a gift her for almost anyone. Another thing I love is the selection of name brands at the store. I have purchased asics shoes as well as nike bags. Their store brand of clothing is also higher quality than most. The most defining feature is their customer service. On one trip to the store I had a huge order of both food and non-food products. A couple days later I noticed that I was missing some of the things I knew I had purchased. I called the store to see if I had left them at the check out. Since it wasn't the same day the items had already been put back or were thought to have been. The manager told me to circle the items and come in. He told me to put his ok on the receipt and the store allowed me to go and get the items that were missing. They basically had to just trust me. I felt that was above and beyond and Meijer earned my loyalty at that point.
