I have been shopping at The Office Depot for a long time and have almost always had a good experience. One great example was a few months ago I was in the market for a SSD drive for my computer. They had advertised a good deal on one so I decided to go pick one up. Unfortunately, they were out of the one I wanted; but, the sales people took a long time to talk to me about my needs and eventually advised me to purchase a cheaper and better model from them. They were very helpful and I won't hesitate to buy from them in the future.

About a year ago, I stopped by an Office Depot because I was interested in buying a portable Walkman-type radio or an MP3 player. They didn't have any Walkman-type radios but they did have an MP3 player that I seriously considered purchasing. I decided not to make that purchase and left the store. But, I had a very positive experience there with the sales staff. They went out of their way to try to help me select whatever I was interested in. So, when a couple of weeks later I decided to purchase a netbook, Office Depot was the first place I went. I checked out their prices and told them that I would check the prices at some other stores and come back later if they had the best price. They were extremely helpful, even giving me printouts of all the features of the model I was interested in. I comparison-shopped at Best Buy and Wal-Mart, but Office Depot had the lowest price on the netbook I was interested in (Gateway). So, I went back to Office Depot and asked them some more questions and they answered all of them. Since they had the best all-around deal, I decided to make my purchase there. They tried to sell me their software installation plan, which was a bit pricey, and for me unnecessary, so I declined. But I did purchase that Gateway netbook (and a couple of flash drives) and I couldn't be more happier with it! As a matter of fact, I am writing this review on it!

A couple of months ago, Office Depot had a great sale on laptops. If you bring in your old PC desktop or laptop to be recycled, they give you $75 off the purchase of a new laptop. The final price was $450, a great deal for a mainstream 14 inch laptop. I made the purchase online and brought my old desktop to the store. They accepted the old desktop with no problems. When the cashier began charging me up for the new laptop, she ran into an issue and had to call corporate store support. I waited on line for 15 minutes and she couldn’t get a corporate representative on the phone. I went to my car to do some work on my smartphone. I waited around for another 10 minutes until finally she got a representative on the line and fixed the issue. She apologized for the delay and was very genuine about it. Because of this delay, I was late for my nephew’s birthday party. However, I was still pleased with the purchase. I recommend this sale to others. Most people have an old PC they could recycle and receive a great discount. I also tell them to go when they have plenty of free time because you might be kept waiting. Overall, I think Office Depot is a good store and they will have my business again.

I got a bunch of Office Depot gift cards for my last birthday. I told everyone that I needed office supplies and that they should give me gift certificates if they were going to bother. Most people listened, although some of them were obstinate and refused. They did not like it when I asked if I could have the receipts to return them. I needed a bunch of toner and ink for my printer, that stuff is extremely expensive. I should have figured that out before I bought that Lexmark. It is smart to see if you can refill the cartridges, but I got it so cheap that I forgot to look to see what it cost to replenish the supplies. The gift cards were a huge help to me and my little business.
